A tough day…..
Donaldsville, Louisiana. 22nd OctoberA combination of ludicrously serpentine river and strong wind, meant we were once again battered by winds, super tankers and barges, on what turned out to be a 43 mile day, and frankly has left me on my knees. The river below Baton Rouge is industrial in every aspect. I cannot really do justice to this blog or the events of the day today, so will beg your forgiveness this once and I will try to write more tomorrow.
I need to lie in an air conditioned room for a few hours before getting ready for another 35 miles. only three days to go, but that is still three more big mile days.
Sorry.
You should not be sorry. You have both been incredible keeping the blogs coming.
Not too long now. We are all rooting for you.
Dearest John
You are so amazing, I am in awe. I hope the last few days are as pain free as possible and that you have a wonderful celebration when you arrive. Love from Laura x
Amazing work! You are so nearly there. Courage and heart for the last few days. Well done you all. Keep going until the very end and then enjoy!
0ver 2,300 miles and the river still fights back. But you are our big man, with a big heart, conquering a big challenge. We feel your pain and torture. We send you our heartfelt support and encouragement as you dig deep into those incredible pools of courage and strength and sheer guts and determination that have carried you thus far. Good luck to the end, big man.
